Featured: Le Grizz (Polebridge, MT)
“A Montana tradition since 1982,” the 50-mile Le Grizz Ultramarathon kicks off Saturday, October 11, in Polebridge, Montana, just west of Glacier National Park. A new addition to UltraRunning Magazine’s list of Old School Ultras, the historic race takes place on a rolling gravel road that parallels the North Fork of the Flathead River. Participants will start at the Polebridge Mercantile, head south for a small out-and-back section, and then run north all the way to the Canadian border before turning around and heading back. Race highlights include beautiful fall Montana scenery, the support of incredible volunteers and finish line treats including local beer and fresh huckleberry bear claws. Le Grizz Ultramarathon is powered by The Glacier Institute, the official education partner of Glacier National Park and Flathead National Forest. Read more about the race here.
