The first weekend in June featured 60 North American ultramarathons on the UltraRunning Magazine race calendar. In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we highlight results from Idaho, Virginia and Québec, Canada. Congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend. Be sure to check out all the results as they continue to roll in on our results page.
Scout Mountain Ultras
We lead things off in Pocatello, Idaho, for the 12th running of the Scout Mountain Ultras. This year’s race featured three ultramarathon distances including 100 miles, 50 miles and 50k. The 100-mile event, both a Hardrock 100 and Western States Endurance Run qualifier, kicked off on Friday, and saw three women go under the previous female course record time. Top honors in the women’s race went to Caroline Hardin in a speedy time of 24:25:02. Hardin took nearly an hour off the previous women’s best time. Kayla Martin ran to a second-place finish in 24:44:49, and Devon Yanko (25:03:46) rounded out the women’s podium in third.
Tyler Green cruised to victory in a new men’s course-record time of 19:48:42. Green took 50 minutes off the previous CR and became the first runner to ever finish the challenging course in under 20 hours. Second place on the men’s side went to Mike McMonagle in 21:16:01. Bryan Gensits (22:06:53) came in third.
Full results from all three ultramarathon distances can be found here.
Old Dominion
Our second stop takes us to the East Coast for one of the oldest 100-mile ultramarathons in the United States (and perhaps one of the warmest this weekend), the Old Dominion 100. While we wait for official race results and times to be uploaded, unofficial sources cite Olivier Leblond earning the win in the men’s race. This marks Leblond’s historic seventh win at the Old Dominion 100. Second place in the men’s race went to Siqi Wu. Shawn McDermott came in third.
Tatiana Rypinski raced to the Old Dominion 100 women’s win. Victoria Haynes followed in second, and Laura Trissel completed the women’s podium in third.
A link to the full results will be posted here when we have them.
Dam Yeti
Staying in Virginia, we drop in on the popular Dam Yeti (50-mile and 55k races) in Damascus, Virginia. There were 157 runners who completed Saturday’s 50-mile race, while the 55k saw 200 finishers. First place in the women’s 50-miler went to Leigh Campbell in 6:19:54. Campbell clocked the second-fastest women’s course time ever and placed second overall. Audrey Carter was the second woman and third overall runner across the line in 6:29:44. Kimberly Fagen ran to an F3 and seventh overall finish in 7:10:16.
On the men’s side, Michael Brinkman earned the win in 6:10:33, the second-fastest men’s Dam Yeti 50 course time ever. Zachary Lister was M2 and fourth overall in 6:43:32. Noah Russ (6:53:24) snagged the final men’s podium spot and placed fifth overall.

Trail La Clinique Du Coureur
Our final stop takes us north of the border for one of Canada’s most competitive early season trail running events, the Trail La Clinique Du Coureur. Saturday’s 50k race saw 237 finishers and a tightly contested battle in the men’s division with Dany Racine claiming the win just 28 seconds ahead of Jacob Arnason. Racine broke the tape in 5:16:39, his third Trail La Clinique Du Coureur victory in the past four years, while Arnason crossed the line in 5:17:07. Victor Larocque (5:18:15) finished just behind them in third.
Sarah Bergeron-Larouche took home the women’s title in 5:54:13. This is Bergeron-Larouche’s fourth Trail La Clinique Du Coureur victory since 2018. Laurianne Lepine was second female in 6:16:40. Fanny Girardin (6:36:21) rounded out the women’s podium in third.
