The second weekend in June featured 48 North American ultramarathons on the UltraRunning Magazine race calendar. In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we dive into results from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and Nevada. Congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend. Kettle Moraine 100
We lead things off in La Grange, Wisconsin, at the 31st annual Kettle Moraine 100 Endurance Trail Races (100-mile, 100K, 50K, and 38-mile ultramarathons). 219 runners lined up at the start of Saturday’s 100-miler, with only 112 runners completing the course in under 30 hours to earn their Kettle Moraine buckles. Top honors in the men’s race went to Dustin Trampe in 17:19:15. Adam Sanchez (18:55:58) came in second, and Andrew Richardson (19:21:56) rounded out the men’s podium in third.
Laura Stanley was victorious in the women’s race, breaking the tape in 25:07:14. Anna Twinem (25:31:20) finished runner-up, and Julia Hartig (25:58:03) came away with third.
Rachel Burke was the first non-binary finisher in 26:54:57.
Winners in the other three Kettle Moraine ultramarathon distances include: 100K: Jessa Victor (f) 9:34:07 New Course Record – Spencer Triplett (m) 10:41:34; 50K: Adrienne Eynon (f) 5:27:07 – Barrett Smith (m) 4:41:53; 38-Mile: Anne Jensen (f) 6:52:15 – Bill Dittman (m) 6:04:38.

Laurel Highlands
Our second stop takes us to the Northeast region and Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, for the 47th edition of the Laurel Highlands 70.5 race and the 21st running of the 50-kilometer contest. 121 runners earned an official finish in Saturday’s 70.5-mile event, paced by women’s winner Miquela Ingalls in 13:56:46. Ingalls placed sixth overall. Marisa Deichert ran to an F2 and eighth overall finish in 14:12:52. Stacey Billig (14:34:59) earned the final female podium spot in third.
Brandon Fogarty ran the fifth fastest course time ever to win the men’s race in 11:25:26. Blake Furman (12:51:47) followed in second and Ethan Swope (12:53:34) snagged third.

McKenzie River Trail Run
Heading west, we check in on Oregon’s oldest ultramarathon event, the McKenzie River Trail Run. 178 participants completed Saturday’s 50-kilometer point-to-point course, led by men’s winner Jack Matherly in 3:48:03. Kyle Terry secured a second-place finish in 4:03:51, and Matt Hause rounded out the men’s podium in third (4:07:50).
Ciara Gallen earned the women’s win in 4:58:08. Kylee Martens ran to second in 5:03:36, and Alexis Gibbons (5:11:29) took third.

Tahoe 200
Our final stop takes us to Heavenly Stagecoach Lodge in Stateline, Nevada, for the 10th running of the Tahoe 200 Endurance Run. The race began at 9 AM PT and does not conclude until 6 PM on Tuesday, but the top male and female finishers have already completed the challenging 200-mile loop course. First place in the women’s category and second overall went to Mika Thewes in 51:10:26. This is Thewes’s third Tahoe 200 win in the past five years and the second-fastest female race time ever recorded. On the men’s side, Aaron Kubala took just over two days to complete the 200-mile loop and claim the overall win in a new course record time of 48:09:30.
