First run in 2014, Scout Mountain Ultras now features three ultramarathon distances, including 100-mile, 50-mile and 50k races, as well as a 23-miler. All events are held in Pocatello, Idaho, on the trails around 8,710-foot Scout Mountain in the Bannock Range. The races are known for giving athletes a true mountain running test, complete with big climbs, high-country single-track, beautiful wildflowers and expansive ridgeline views. The 100-miler runners will have to navigate 23,800 feet of ups and downs to earn their 2027 Hardrock 100 qualifiers, while 50-milers will face 10,900 feet of vert and 50k participants will have to conquer 7,400 feet of gain. Check out a video from the 2023 Scout Mountain Ultras race.
