The Gila 100 is one of the only 100-mile trail races in New Mexico. It’s an old-school style race put on by two Silver City locals, and their goal is to bring ultrarunning to their community.
The Run Rabbit Run 100 and 50 drew runners from 49 states and 11 foreign countries from around the globe, each seeking challenge, beauty and community in the mountains of Steamboat Springs.
The Ute 100 was founded in 2018. This dramatic course is set in the La Sal mountains outside of Moab, Utah. It starts in the red rock desert – what you might traditionally picture when you think of Moab – but, at mile 15, the course climbs above a treeline into high alpine territory.
It’s normal to want to move as much, or maybe even more this time of year, but what if we try measuring our miles differently? We’re only limited by our imagination, and I think that monicker holds true here.
Time off of training isn’t just a period when you don’t race. Make the most of it by creating a thought-out timeframe that allows you to recover and reset, while having a little fun.
