Featured: San Diego 100 (Lake Cuyamaca, CA)
The 24th annual San Diego 100 kicks off on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Lake Cuyamaca Recreation Area, located just outside the charming town of Julian, California—home to some of the best apple pie around. Runners will set off at 6 a.m. and attempt to complete a loop course that takes them through sections of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), Cuyamaca and Anza Borrego State Parks, Mt. Laguna Recreational Area, and Noble Canyon. Along the way, they’ll have to navigate challenging and technical single-track trails, 15,400 feet of elevation gain and descent, and the likelihood of hot temperatures and prolonged sun exposure. This year’s event includes a new one-hour early start for participants over 60, and all runners who complete the race in under 32 hours will earn a qualifier for the 2026 Western States Endurance Run lottery. Featured: Dam Yeti (Abington, VA)
The Dam Yeti 50-mile and 55k endurance runs are held on one of the quickest ultramarathon courses in the country. Both distances begin in Abingdon, Virginia, and follow the Virginia Creeper Trail on a fast and runnable crushed gravel path that takes participants over scenic railroad trestles, through quaint Appalachian towns and past a broken Pepsi machine that is rumored to dispense magical potions. The 50-miler runners will have 14 hours to complete an out-and-back course, while 55k runners have 10 hours to finish a point-to-point race. As a side note, several miles of the Virginia Creeper Trail were destroyed during Hurricane Helene. The Yeti Trail Runners match 100% of all donations made to the Virginia Creeper Trail Conservancy.
