We ended February and led off March with 31 races on UltraRunning Magazine’s North American race calendar. In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we highlight race results from Utah, Arizona, Maryland and Washington. Moab’s Red Hot Ultra
We lead things off in Moab, Utah, for the 20th anniversary of the Moab’s Red Hot Ultra 50-mile and 55k ultramarathons. There were 175 runners who finished Saturday’s 55k race, paced by women’s winner Hannah Allgood, who cruised to victory in 4:32:58. Allgood placed fourth overall. Lauren Puretz ran to a second-place female finish and took seventh overall in 4:59:27. Madison Berumen was third in 5:50:38. On the men’s side, Bryan Kerl took the win in 4:03:41. Spencer Shellberg came in second in 4:13:48. Shane Skiff (4:32:37) secured a third-place finish.

Copper Corridor
Our next stop takes us to Superior, Arizona, for the Copper Corridor 50k race. There were 104 runners who completed the seventh edition of the event, led by men’s winner Jonathan Kuplack in 4:25:01. Matt Halverson finished just behind to earn a second-place finish in 4:27:19. Danny Harper snagged third in 4:32:46. Kelly Cockrell paced the way for the women, winning in 5:30:36. Cockrell finished seventh overall. Kate Ferguson was the second female and tenth overall runner across the line in 5:31:43. Marah Miller (5:55:29) claimed third.

Hashawha Hills 50K
Shooting over to the Hashawha Environmental Center in Westminster, Maryland, we check in on the 16th running of the Hashawha Hills 50K Trail Run. Saturday’s race saw 99 runners cross the finish line under the 9-hour cutoff time, with top honors in the men’s competition going to Patrick Blair in 4:02:18. Daniel Jacobs came in second in 4:13:11. Simon Arendt (4:13:55) finished less than a minute behind Jacobs to complete the men’s podium in third. Emily Driscoll won the women’s race in 5:07:54. Ashley Judd took second in 5:12:45, and Heather Dougherty (5:38:02) finished third.

Orcas Island 100
We wrap things up on Washington State’s beautiful Orcas Island for the Orcas Island 100, where runners had 36 hours to complete four 25-mile loops on the island’s challenging trail system. Top honors in the female race went to Audrey Lawrence in a new course record time of 22:15:39. Lawrence finished fifth overall and took over 55 minutes off the previous CR. Hilary Spires finished F2 and tenth overall in 25:25:25. Christine Mosley rounded out the women’s podium in third (26:14:00). Eric Yan won the men’s race in 20:56:34. Jeremey Douglas finished runner-up in 21:13:47. Xander Hartwood (21:44:03) came in third. There were 61 runners who earned an official finish and their 2026 Orcas Island buckles.
