Rocky Raccoon 100
We lead things off in Huntsville, Texas, where the flat and fast Rocky Raccoon 100 (100-mile and 100k) once again produced speedy times on the Huntsville State Park trails. In the men’s 100-miler, Nick Petterson ran away with the win by nearly an hour in 14:38:37. Jordan Taylor was the second male finisher in 15:36:53, and Adam Gloyeske (15:47:37) crossed the line in third. Tatiani Rypinski led the way in the women’s 100-mile race with a winning time of 17:59:16, finishing eighth overall. Val Garcia was the second female finisher and placed 10th overall in 18:46:10. Crystal Ross (19:31:45) came in in third.

Elephant Mountain
Our next stop takes us to Cave Creek, Arizona, for the Elephant Mountain 50-mile and 50k. Top female honors in Saturday’s seventh annual 50-mile race went to Rebecca Lewandowski in 9:29:25. Lewandowski placed fifth overall and recorded the second-fastest women’s time in course history. Heidi Allen finished second among women and sixth overall in 10:37:49. Erin Randleman earned the final female podium spot, taking ninth overall in 11:22:45. Michael Versteeg won the men’s 50-miler in 7:46:01, less than 90 seconds off the course record. Kyle Curtin finished second in 7:52:38, while Jeff Browning added yet another podium finish to his remarkable ultrarunning career, placing third in 8:28:12.

Algonquin 50K
The 10th annual Algonquin 50K took place Saturday in Pocomoke City, Maryland. A total of 209 runners finished the modified 50k out-and-back course, with top honors in the men’s race going to Andrew Gibson in 4:19:47. Luke Woodard finished second in 4:21:35, and Justin Parker (4:31:16) placed third. Aubryn Cruz ran away from the field to win the women’s race and secure a top-five overall finish in 4:42:45. Chelsea Lahey was the second female finisher in 5:00:19, while Nina Young (5:03:57) rounded out the women’s podium in third.

Monterey Ultra 50
Our final stop takes us to Fort Ord National Monument in Monterey, California, for the Monterey Ultra 50 and Fort Ord 50K. Saturday’s third running of the Monterey Ultra 50 saw a heated battle in the women’s race, with Jess Wacker and Zoe Ray steadily moving up the field throughout the day. Wacker crossed the finish line in 8:26:42 to secure the win, just 42 seconds ahead of runner-up Ray, who clocked 8:27:24. Wacker and Ray finished fifth and sixth overall, respectively. Emily Flynn placed third in 9:26:20. David Sadowski took the win in the men’s event, breaking the tape in 7:44:45. Jayson Hefner (7:53:56) claimed second, and Kaden Strom (8:14:19) finished third.

The Myrtle Beach 24 Hour took place over the weekend! Pat Hasler won with more than 156 miles! Results are on Ultrasignup. Can you include this in your weekend recap? 🙂
