While many of you likely spent your weekend running around after kids looking for brightly colored eggs, some of you were out running long miles in some big events. We’ve got results from Syracuse, Utah, Blairsville, Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia, and Cool, California. Let’s find out who cruised through to the finish line this weekend, shall we?

We begin the Ultra Weekend Recap near Salt Lake City as we saw some familiar names running the Antelope Island Buffalo Runs this weekend. We’ll start with the 50k event where Adam Peterman returned to racing this weekend by winning and setting a course record in 3:27:51. In second was Devon Pancake, finishing in 3:41:10, and third place went to Loren Davis in 4:16:32. In the women’s race, Alexis Crellin was victorious in 4:38:09, finishing sixth overall. In second, Marie Young finished in 4:45:07 and rounding out the podium was Brooke Bullington, who finished in 4:55:52.

In the 50-mile event, Maria Johnstone took the win in 8:33:37 and was tenth overall. In second, Rhandi Orme finished just 2 minutes behind in 8:35:29. Third place went to Stacey Armijo in 8:58:40. Zachary Garner took the win for the men in 6:30:26. In second, and just 12 minutes back, was Anthony Jacobs in 6:42:34. Third place, and the final spot on the podium, went to Finn Melanson in 7:03:37.

In the 100-mile race, Luke Metzger took the win in 18:24:36. Behind in second was Justin Alpaugh in 18:44:34. Third place went to Karl Meltzer in 19:10:08. On the women’s side, Hollie Pierce was the winner in 26:27:13. Second went to Leslie Cross in 27:00:23. Ashley Forshey was third in 27:37:23. Full results for all events here.

Flavie Dokken finished in second in 17:48:50, and Sally Bray took third in 17:53:14. On the men’s side, Brendan Connell finished first in 13:25:33. Lukas Burrer took second in 14:40:27 and rounding out the podium was Tanner Honan in 14:57:01. Full results here.

Not far away in Atlanta, Georgia, the Canebrake 200-miler saw 24 finishers. In first and third overall, was Stacy McMurtrey in 2 days 21:23:16. Lisa Tuckwood finished second and fourth overall in 2 days 22:18:59 and in third and fifth overall, Rene Crickenberger finished in 3 days 00:46:31. I am surprised there is no coverage of the Chicago Lakefront 50K Lakefront Ultra that took place on 3/30/24. Nolan McKenna won the race with a time of 2:58:54 . Unless this race is no longer an ultra?

Hi James,

Thanks for the note. That’s a crazy fast time. Unfortunately, I didn’t see these results at time of publishing.

Here is a link to the final results: https://www.runrace.net/findarace.php?id=24090IL&tab=a4&results=18841

Does Ultra Running Magazine cover the Across the Years Ultra that takes place the end of December in Arizona?
It has among other events the 24 hour, 48 hour, 72 hour and 6 Day fixed time events. I think that there is also a fixed distance ultra event?

Drew Dinan 04/01/2024 - 2:20 pm

Hi Edward,

We do cover Across the Years. Here is a link to the race page with results: https://ultrarunning.com/calendar/event/across-the-years

Thanks!
