Entrance to the Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by New Balance will be lottery-based. Cost is $15 to enter the lottery, which will open on December 1, 2014. Winners will be notified in mid-January and automatically charged the $315 registration fee. The $15 lottery fee will be applied to The Leadville Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization giving to the needs of the Leadville community, and the Life Time Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization helping provide school lunches to children.
If unsuccessful in the lottery process, there are other options to qualify for and enter the race:
1. Leadville Race Series Qualifying Races
Austin Rattler 75K
Leadville Trail Marathon
Silver Rush 50 Run
Each qualification event will be allocated 25 LT100 Run slots.
20 of the slots will be distributed based on performance in the qualifying event. Slots are distributed to each gender and age group (20-29, 30-39, etc.) based on the percentage of total athletes in those age groups, with a minimum of one slot for every age group.
In the event an athlete elects not to accept a slot, the slot will roll down to the next athlete in the results within the same age group.
In the event slots are not claimed after the roll down in each age group, those slots will be allocated to the on-site Event Lottery, as described below.
Five slots will be distributed in a random lottery drawing at the event awards ceremony. All finishers under the pre-determined maximum finish time who have indicated their desire to participate in the lottery will be entered in an on-site lottery drawing.
Names will be drawn from the eligible lottery athletes who finished in the allotted qualifier time.
In the event an athlete opts not to accept a slot, the slots will roll down to the next athlete that is drawn until ALL slots have been distributed.
Qualification slots must be claimed in person immediately.
Registration for the Leadville Trail 100 Run must be completed and paid for immediately.
At the 2015 Qualifiers, runners may elect to race in the Leadville Trail 100 Run for 2015 or defer until 2016. Registration will happen onsite for either year, and payment will be assessed for 2015 or 2016. Through the registration process, runners will be asked to select the year they prefer to race.
All registration fees for the LT100 Run are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
2. Leadville Trail 100 Run Camp
50 LT100 Run entries are available on a first-come-first-served basis as a part of a package deal with Leadville Trail 100 Run Camp registration.
Registration for 2015 Run Camp for the $850 fee includes both the three-day run camp and the entry fee for the 2015 LT100 Run.
Run Camp is also offered as a standalone purchase for $325.
Run Camp is open to anyone, even those not participating the Leadville Trail 100 Run.
3. Leadman/ Leadwoman
Registration for the Leadman/Leadwoman series competition opens January 1 and is open to the first 100 registrants.
Registration for the 2015 Leadman/Leadwoman competition includes an entry into the 2015 Leadville Trail 100 Run.
Leadmen and women must complete five of the six Leadville run and bike events to receive their title: the Leadville Trail Marathon, the Silver Rush 50 Run or MTB, the Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Herbalife24, the Leadville Trail 100 Run and the Leadville Climax Molybdenum 10K.
4. Charity slots
Entering our Charity Slot Program guarantees your entry into the legendary Leadville Trail 100 Run.
Slots are available through the Leadville Tail 100 Legacy Foundation, Life Time Foundation and many other 501(c)(3) organizations. Plus you may choose your own charity to race for. For more information, please contact Abby Long at [email protected].
5. 2015 Automatic Entries
The 2014 champions, both male and female will be offered preference in the lottery for the 2015 LT100 Run.
Runners with nine LT100 Run finishes who will be attempting their 10th LT100 in 2015 will also be given preference in the lottery.
During the registration process, lottery entrants will be prompted to state if they were successful in the Western States Endurance Run lottery and hoping to compete in the 2015 Grand Slam.

They’ve updated their release since your publishing of it here. In Section 5, Automatic Entries, provision is being made for Grand Slammers.
