Western States champion Stephanie Howe checks in at number three. 2014 was a banner year for the Bend, Oregon runner as she won Western States, completed her PhD in Exercise Physiology, and got married – all within a span of four months!

Sage Canaday was voted to third place among the men. The Boulder, Colorado based runner won the highly competitive North Face Endurance Challenge championship and Speedgoat 50K. Canaday had a busy year with three international races, placing very high in all of them.
