Zach Bitter
Zach Bitter of Marinette, Wisconsin checks in at number 6. Bitter, a middle school teacher, ran the fastest 50 mile time by an American in more than 30 years, posting a 5:12:33 at the Chicago Lakefront 50. He capped the year off by setting an American Record for 100 miles, running an amazing 11:47:21 – 7:04 per mile – at the Desert Solstice Run in Arizona. (photo by Kristin Steele)
