In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we set our clocks ahead and now we’ve got results from Virginia, Arizona, Oregon and California. Let’s get to it.
No Man’s 50K
In Triangle, Virginia, on International Women’s Day, the No Man’s 50K women’s only event saw Juliana Villatake the overall win in 4:45:40. Amelia Merriman came in second in 5:22:40 and Kathleena Mumfordfinished in third in 5:25:13. Full results here.
Siuslaw Dunes Trail Run
Jumping across to the West Coast, the Siuslaw Dunes Trail Run in Florence, Oregon, had 70 finishers cross the line with Joshua Bibbee taking the overall win in 4:48:45. Ian Wildermuth finished in second in 4:55:06 and Patrick McKinney finished in third in 5:14:31. Emily Keddie won the women’s race in 5:24:14 and Lindsey Ulrich finished second in 5:41:18. Jessica Mowrer rounded out the podium in 5:43:19. Full results here.
Marin Ultra Challenge
A little further down south, the Marin Ultra Challenge saw fast times on the single-track trails along California’s northern coast, with Kimberly Neely getting the win in the women’s 50-mile race and fourth overall in 8:03:00. Mickey Davis came in second in 8:24:01. Anna Olsen took third in 9:18:17. In the men’s 50-mile race, Jonah Backstrom came in first in 7:29:24. In second, Colin Henderson finished in 7:54:35, and third went to George Darden in 7:55:52.
In the 50k race, Hannah Allgood won the women’s race in 3:51:42, setting a new course record and finishing second overall. Eva Frieden finished second in 4:33:01 and Pamela Iwaszewicz finished third in 4:44:23. In the men’s race, Grant Hotaling came away with the win in 3:48:22. Ben Schreck finished second in 3:56:46 and Jack Cartwright finished third in 3:58:32. Full results here.
Mesquite Canyon
Down in Waddell, Arizona, at the Mesquite Canyon 50k and 50-mile races, Jim Walmsley won the 50k and set a course record by over 20 minutes, finishing in 3:40:43. Eric Lipuma also beat the course record time, finishing in second in 4:00:02. Jesse Carr finished third in 4:46:11. In the women’s race, Ailsa Macdonaldbrought home the win with the second-fastest time ever in 4:46:20 (and finished fourth overall). Andrea Pomaranski placed second in 5:31:15 and Rebekah Rose finished third in 6:11:20.
In the 50-mile race, women’s winner, Tonya Keyes, finished in 11:19:41. Second place went to Lisa Buzzeo in 12:15:31, and third went to Megan O’Connor in 13:53:14. In the men’s race, Jake Jackson took the win in 9:08:58. Sion Lupowitz finished in second in 9:27:18, and third went to Brayden Crowe in 10:52:56. Full results here.
