The Ultra Weekend Recap for our last official weekend of spring brings us results from California’s Broken Arrow Skyrace, Utah’s Logan Peak Trail Run, Ontario’s Niagara Ultra, records at Six Days in the Dome in Wisconsin and a whole lot more.
On Saturday, June 17, the Broken Arrow Skyrace 46k took place in Olympic Valley, California. Michelino Sunseri, from Driggs, Idaho, led the way for the men, finishing in 3 hours, 58 minutes and 2 seconds. He was followed closely by Missoula, Montana, resident Jeff Mogavero, who finished in 4 hours and 9 seconds, and San Francisco’s Nick Handel, who rounded out the podium in 4 hours, 4 minutes and 37 seconds. In the women’s contest, local runner Helen Mino Faukner from nearby Truckee, California, won in 4 hours, 50 minutes and 19 seconds. Lindsey McDonald out of Flagstaff, Arizona, was the runner-up in 4 hours, 58 minutes and 50 seconds, and Kristina Mascarenas of Colorado Springs, Colorado, took third in 5 hours, 1 minute and 16 seconds. In Logan, Utah, at the Logan Peak Trail Run 28-miler, Kate Hunter from Kansas City, Missouri, won in 4 hours, 12 minutes and 3 seconds. She was followed by Rebekah Rose out of Lewiston, Utah, in 4 hours, 20 minutes and 1 second, and Salt Lake City’s Andrea Ostwald in 4 hours, 28 minutes and 21 seconds. In the men’s contest, Jonathan Castrejon from Oakley, Utah, won in 3 hours, 37 minutes and 43 seconds. Adam Hendrickson of Millville, Utah, came in second in 3 hours, 45 minutes and 25 seconds, and Dustin Murray out of Pocatello, Idaho, secured third in 3 hours, 53 minutes and 35 seconds. North of the border at the Niagara Ultra 50k, Aidan Rutherford from Waterloo, Ontario, won in 3 hours, 21 minutes and 32 seconds. He was followed by Sven Jurshevski of Toronto, Ontario, in 3 hours, 37 minutes and 2 seconds, and Christian Keller, from Meilen, Switzerland, came in third in 3 hours, 43 minutes and 48 seconds. Julie Hamulecki from Toronto won for the women and finished second overall in 3 hours, 24 minutes and 28 seconds. Breanne Schaefer of Grimsby, Ontario, was the runner-up in 3 hours, 53 minutes and 48 seconds, and Neela D’Souza from Pickering, Ontario, came in third in 4 hours, 8 minutes and 33 seconds. Six Days in the Dome is still going on in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and you can check out the live results as they get updated here. It’s been reported that a few records have been set including Chikara Omine of Sacramento, California, running 50 miles in 5 hours, 4 minutes and 9 seconds, and 100k in 6 hours, 31 minutes and 7 seconds for new Age 40-45 American records (pending ratification).

The 2023 Highlands Sky 40 Miler was this past Saturday! Absolutely beautiful event in Canaan Valley, WV. Results aren’t up yet but they will be on this site here:
