We close out the 2024 ultrarunning season with results from Arizona, South Carolina, Florida and Ohio.

Beginning in Peoria, Arizona, results are starting to come in at Across the Years, a multi-day running event with various fixed-time and distance races. While Across the Years doesn’t conclude until January 3, we have results from a few ultra events that ended over the weekend. In the 100-miler, Sarah Zentack finished first female and second overall in 19:46:25. Almir Halilkanovic won for the men in 16:36:36. Sierra DeGroff took the overall win in the new Mount to Coast 100k in 9:06:19. Adam DeBrosse (11:43:12) finished first-place male. Finally, in the 24-hour competition, results show that Nathanial Currie was victorious in the men’s race, covering 119.7 miles. Maria Peck paced the way for the women with 88.7 miles. Full results and live tracking for the ongoing 200-mile, 72-hour and last person standing events can be found here.

Our next stop is Charleston, South Carolina, for the seventh annual Charleston 100. This year’s race had 39 finishers, led by Anthony Brungard, who smashed the previous course record and won by over 5 hours in a blistering fast time of 14:55:20. Michael Davis finished second (20:13:33), and Brad Reed (20:47:19) placed third. On the women’s side, Christi Ballagh won and finished seventh overall in 22:48:42. Amanda Schuster came in second (23:40:45), and Kerry Dulina (24:58:02) completed the podium in third. Full results here.

Heading south, we land in Jupiter, Florida, for the eighth running of the Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur 50k. There were 29 runners who crossed the finish line at this year’s event, with Brenda Lips taking the women’s win and finishing third overall in 5:20:22. Katie Jenkins finished second female and fifth overall (6:14:32), and Amanda Gunter (6:15:32) ran to third and sixth overall. In the men’s race, Alan Davidson took top honors winning overall in 4:40:49. Weston Maki claimed second (4:58:35), and Chris Clapp (6:11:04) was third. Full results here.

We wrap things up in New Carlisle, Ohio, for the third running of the Revenuer’s Run 8-hour race. Timothy Buse ran the farthest for the men, winning overall with 48.6 miles. Steve Burchett finished second (41.4 miles), and Mitch Davis took third (also with 41.4 miles but slower overall clock time). In the women’s event, Christie Buse completed 37.8 miles to earn the victory and finish sixth overall. Katie Hooper finished second woman and ninth overall (32.4 miles), and Sarah Corliss (28.8 miles) came in third. Full results here.

Other results from this weekend include: NoFlo Holiday Run (White Springs, FL), and Run for the Ranch (Springfield, MO).

Cheers to health, happiness and miles of trail running bliss in 2025, and congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend. Be sure to check out UltraRunning Magazine’s full list of race results here.

Drew Dinan traded the tropics of the Florida Keys for the trails of Bend, OR. Once living the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle, working on fishing boats and owning only a single pair of flip flops, he now has way too many running shoes in his closet and never hears the end of it from his loving wife. He is on a constant quest to find the best happy hours, likes to complain when it’s cold outside, and one day hopes to travel the country writing reviews on chicken wings.

I am so proud of my son Anthony , he is a very strong minded individual. His mind set and preparation for a race is something else . Keep an eye on him .
