Courtney Dauwalter
Courtney Dauwalter is the women’s UltraRunner of the Year for 2021. Dauwalter won six races during the year – two of them outright – and set a course record at UTMB, Europe’s most prestigious ultra. She also smashed the course record at the San Juan Solstice 50-miler. This is the third consecutive time that Dauwalter has won the UROY award. Jim Walmsley
Jim Walmsley is the men’s UltraRunner of the Year for 2021. Walmsley set an American record for 100k in January, clocking 6:09:26, just 12 seconds outside the world record. He also won Western States for the third straight time and set a course record at the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100k in South Africa. This marks the fifth straight UROY for Walmsley, the most ever by a man – only the legendary Ann Trason has more. Courtney didnt win Bigs in ’21 She won in ’20. Harvey Lewis won in ’21. Also… Bigs doesnt have gender place. You either win it all, or you DNF
