Featured: HURT 100 (Honolulu, HI)
The HURT 100, Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s trail 100-mile endurance run, returns to the island of Oahu and Honolulu, Hawaii, for its 26th edition. One of UltraRunning Magazine’s Old School Ultras, the HURT 100 is renowned for its extremely grueling course, humid conditions, stunning location, tight-knit trail running community and rich history dating back to the early days of trail running in Hawaii. On course, those who are brave and/or lucky enough to take on the challenge will have to complete five grueling 20-mile laps in under 36 hours. Each lap, participants will have to tackle steep climbs and descents, with nearly 5,000 feet of elevation gain and loss (per lap), while navigating slick rocks, endless roots, stream crossings and mud wallows. On average, only 40% of runners who start HURT finish the race. Check out everything you need to know about the race in the Book of HURT.

Featured: The Shippey Endurance Runs (High Ridge, MO)
The Shippey Endurance Runs take place on the private trails of the Beaumont Scout Reservation, just outside St. Louis, Missouri. Billed as “St. Louis’s original 100-mile trail ultra,” the event features a 40-mile and 100k race in addition to its signature 100-miler. Each race distance utilizes five counterclockwise trail segments ranging from 3.2 to 5.3 miles, combining to form a 20-mile loop. The course offers varied and challenging terrain, including steep climbs and descents with grades reaching 35–40%, ridgeline running, pine forest floors, creek bottoms and a mix of approximately 75% single and double-track trails and 25% jeep roads. Runners and their crews have access to two indoor aid stations during the race. Participants in the 100-mile event have 34 hours to complete five loops, while 100k runners have the same 34-hour cutoff to finish three loops. The 40-mile race features a 20-hour time limit to complete two loops. Check out a video from the 2025 race here.
