Chuckanut 50k
We kick things off in beautiful Fairhaven, Washington, for the 31st running of the Chuckanut 50k. Slick and rainy conditions didn’t stop 623 runners from crossing the finish line at this year’s event, led by Chris Myers who took the overall win in 3:39:11. Karl Augsten finished runner-up (3:49:05), and Andrew Rylaarsdam (3:51:13) rounded out the men’s podium in third. Jade Belzberg paced the way in the women’s contest, earning the victory in 4:22:41. Klaire Rhodes ran to second (4:24:44), and Sarah Carter (4:29:07) took third. Full results here.
Old West Trail Runs
Heading south, we mosey down to Julian, California, and the historic trails of Anza Borrego Desert State Park for the ninth running of the Old West Trail Runs 50k. Olivia Horgan set a new female course record on her way to winning the women’s race and finishing third overall in 4:24:10. Tina Davis finished second woman and tenth overall in 4:46:21, and Chiara Gelinas (5:09:41) snagged third. Robert Webber staked claim to the overall win while running the third-fastest course time ever in 3:48:07. Ethan Herrera placed second (4:06:37), and Ben McMahon (4:35:22) was third. The Cove
Moving over to the southeast and the scenic landscape of the north Georgia mountains, we check in on the second running of The Cove 50k. There were 56 runners who completed the challenging course, with top honors going to Mac Dean in 4:54:59. Brandon Sullivan took second male in 5:03:56. Kincaid Wurl (5:04:51) finished just behind in third. Shannon Wheeler Deboef finished first woman and seventh overall in 5:51:37. Rebecca Jameson was second (6:15:34), and Diane Weninger (7:44:02) came in third. Full results here.
Get Lucky 50/50
Our final stop takes us to Canal Fulton, Ohio, for the Get Lucky 50/50 (50-mile and 50k races). Alex Borsuk (3:54:46) took the women’s title and finished second overall while setting a new course record in Saturday’s 50k event. Jennifee McCorkle was second (5:27:35), and Anna McClaugherty (5:35:24) placed third. Zach Crim was first in the men’s contest in a speedy time of 3:14:37 (second best course time ever). John Verhagen finished second-place male (4:19:48), and Kole Williams (4:20:42) earned third.
Alec Cline ran to victory in the 50-miler, taking 2 minutes off the previous record in a speedy time of 5:33:37. Lucas Clark came in second (6:17:58), and Liam Hartsuff (6:32:25) completed the podium in third. Hannah McCorkle (8:02:46) took the win and sixth overall in the women’s 50-miler. Amelia Kvalheim finished second (8:13:26), and Tina Frimel (9:20:48) was third. Full results here.
