In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we check on ultramarathon results from Nevada, West Virginia, California and Ohio. Let’s see what went down.

Jackpot Ultra Running Festival

We kick things off in Henderson, Nevada, at the Jackpot Ultra Running Festival, a three-day running event just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. This year’s set list included the 2025 USATF 100-Mile Road Championship, as well as 48-hour, 24-hour, 12-hour, 6-hour, 100-mile, 100k and 50-mile races. In Friday’s USATF 100-Mile Road Championship, runners rolled the dice to see if their fitness could hold up for 85 laps around a 1.17-mile course. In the men’s contest, Rajpaul Pannu defended his 2024 crown and took the win in 11:52:46, over 5 minutes faster than his course record time last year. Jian Springer took the women’s title and placed fourth overall in 15:29:05.

*Update: Per USATF competition rules, Rajpaul Pannu was disqualified from the USATF 100-Mile Road Championship because the shoes he competed in exceeded the maximum allowable stack height. Cody Poskin (13:26) is now the official men’s 2025 USATF 100-Mile Road Champion.

Other fixed time and distance winners included:

  • 48-Hour: Heather Gothard (f) 154.7, Marc Sanderson (m) 184.8
  • 24-Hour: Joanna Neuberg (f) 110.8, Edher Ramirez (m) 131.6
  • 12-Hour: Amber Throop (f) 55.4 miles, Kaleb Stephens (m) 78.5 miles
  • 6-Hour: Holly Ptaff (f) 41.6 miles, Brett Spears (m) 37.0 miles
  • 100-mile: Lisa Cabiles (f) 18:01:49, Avinoam Maier (m) 16:40:23
  • 100-mile (short course): Ilene Bloom (f) 27:50:49, Rajpaul Pannu (m) 11:52:46
  • 100k: Rebecca Martin (f) 12:48:08, David Carta (m) 9:20:49,
  • 50-mile: Mayra Lopez (f) 9:28:08, Chris Andrews (m) 5:59:40,

Cabin Fever 50k

Our next stop takes us to West Virginia’s wild and wonderful New River Gorge National Park for the fourth running of the Cabin Fever 50K. An impressive 224 runners completed this year’s race, paced by overall winner Ryan Ramsby in a time of 4:12:20. Jesse Irwin claimed second (4:22:12), and Isaac Barnes (4:24:34) came in third. On the women’s side, Skyla Taglieri ran her way to the win in 4:41:13, good for eighth place overall and the second-fastest women’s course time ever. Jessica Wingo took second (4:56:09), and Heather Sukey (5:05:38) finished third. Full results here.

FOURmidable 50k

Heading out to Cool, California, we check in on the 12th annual FOURmidable 50k. Beginning in the women’s contest, results show that Sarah Trautman crossed the finish line first and ran to fifth overall in 4:36:18. Briana Jaskot earned second and tenth overall (5:06:25), and Emily Sall (5:53:38) rounded out the podium in third. In the men’s event, Josh Park (3:43:13) edged out runner-up Casey Campbell (3:43:54) by a mere 41 seconds to snag the win. Bentley Regehr (4:18:38) took third. Full results here.

Lake of the Woods 50k

Our final stop takes us to Farmersville, Ohio, for the Lake of the Woods 50k. There were 35 runners who completed the race ahead of the 10-hour cutoff, with Alec Cline winning the overall title in a new course record time of 3:59:51. River Spicer placed second (4:40:56), and Mitch Davis came in third (4:52:41). First female honors went to Abigail Kamalian in 6:16:05. Noreen Roberts took second (6:28:06), and Tana Kirkbride (6:53:08) finished third. Full results here.

Thanks for pointing this out. I updated the results.

Carrell Jackson was not the winner of the 100M Short Course. At one time he was shown as the first place male finisher in the UltraSignup results because when results were initially uploaded to UltraSIgnup, people who had dropped or failed to finish the full 100 miles were not moved into the DNF category. Therefore their clock times at the end of whatever the last lap they had completed were listed as 100M finish times. This disrupted the correct order of finish. It appears this has now been corrected on UltraSignup..
