Eagle, Wisconsin, June 6. Darin Schneidewind and Julie Treder survived a torrential downpour to win at the Kettle Moraine 100. Treder passed Jennifer Eichelberger late in the race for the victory after Eichelberger had led for most of the race. After a cloudy but dry start, heavy rain began falling in mid-afternoon and decimated the field of 155 runners. Only 51 survived to finish within the 30-hour time limit. More than 3.5 inches of rain was recorded at nearby Whitewater. Conditions mimicked the 2008 race, where heavy rain also marred the event.
