Robbins Sets Record at HURT 100

Honolulu, Hawaii, January 20. Gary Robbins of North Vancouver, BC broke his own course record in winning the 13th annual HURT 100 Mile Run in the mountains above Honolulu. Robbins finished two hours ahead of fellow British Columbian Jason Loutitt.

Local runner Hannah Roberts won the women’s race ahead of Melanie Bos, another British Columbia runner.

The race features 25,000 feet of vertical on often very rough trails through the tropical rainforest in the Oahu mountains. Runners were treated to ideal weather, sunny and dry with a high of 81 degrees. Of the 122 starters, only 53 finished within the 36-hour cutoff.
