Pasadena, CA, July 22. Chris Price and Keira Henninger won the 27th annual Angeles Crest 100 under hot, sunny skies. Price pulled away from four-time winner Jorge Pacheco after Cloudburst Summit at mile 30 and led the rest of the way. Pacheco and Ruperto Romero waged a fierce battle for second, with Pacheco eventually prevailing by a mere 14 seconds.
Henninger, the popular race director of the Leona Divide 50, took the lead from Sada Crawford on the climb up to Chantry Flats at about mile 70.
The weather was sunny and hot, with temperatures in the mid-80s on the ridge tops and reaching the low 90s at the finish line in Pasadena. Of the 125 starters, 75 finished within the 33-hour time limit.
