Clifton, Virginia, April 9. Matt Woods broke Leigh Schmitt’s seemingly unassailable course record in winning the 19th annual Bull Run Run 50 Miler in Virginia. Annette Bednosky, who won here in 2005, was the women’s winner.
Woods dusted a talented field and nudged under the old record by less than two minutes.
Frank Probst, Tim Stanley and Tom Green all completed the course and have now finished all 19 Bull Run Runs. A record 320 runners finished within the 13-hour time limit.
