Boonesboro, Maryland, November 22. Mark Lundblad of Swananoa, North Carolina and Connie Gardner of Medina, Ohio were the winners
of the 46th annual JFK 50 held here today. Lundblad held off a late charge by Oz Pearlman for the win. Teague O’Connor finished a close
third. Gardner was well clear of the rest of the women’s field, winning by 17 minutes.
The race is the biggest ultra in North America, and had 922 finishers this year, down from last year’s record 1079. It was a frigid 19 degrees F
at the start of the race.
