Tuscania, Italy, November 8. Kami Semick of Bend, Oregon took second place honors at the IAU World 100km Championships held
here today. The race was won by Tatyana Zhirkova of Russia in 7:23:33. Meghan Arbogast of Corvallis, Oregon took sixth place among
the women with a time of 7:52:21 and Devon Crosby-Helms of Seattle was tenth in 8:01:52. The US women’s team finished second behind
Russia, with Japan taking third.
On the men’s side, Giorgio Calcaterra of Italy won in 6:37:41. Michael Wardian of Arlington, Virginia was the top US finisher with a 7:06:35
clocking, good for 9th place. The Italian men’s team was an easy victor, taking four of the top eight places.
