Pine, Arizona, April 24. Scott Jaime won a hotly-contested men’s race and Jane Larkindale was the women’s winner at the 21st annual Zane Grey 50-Mile Run. Karl Meltzer of Sandy, Utah had established a 40-minute lead when he fell, breaking his arm. He walked four miles to the next aid station and left for the hospital. The point-to-point course traverses the length of the Zane Grey Highline Trail on the Mogollon Rim in central Arizona, and is perhaps the rockiest ultra in the country.
