The first full weekend in March saw 57 races on UltraRunning Magazine’s North American race calendar. In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we highlight race results from Arizona, California, Tennessee and Maryland. Antelope Canyon Ultras
We begin in the famous Antelope Canyon slot canyons outside Page, Arizona, for the 13th annual Antelope Canyon Ultras (55k and 50-mile ultramarathons). A whopping 389 runners completed Saturday’s 55k event.
In the women’s race, Tara Friend paced the way, breaking the tape in a winning time of 6:14:16. Friend finished sixth overall. Kyndal Sorenson took second in 6:27:29. Anna Pajak (6:34:38) raced to third.
Unofficial results in the men’s event show the top three runners finishing with chip times less than 40 seconds apart. Going off chip time, Will Atkinson was the top male in 5:52:59. Cameron Winters was just 3 seconds behind in 5:53:02. Bob Davis (5:53:46) earned the final men’s podium spot in third.

Way Too Cool
Our next stop takes us to Cool, California, for the 36th running of the Way Too Cool 50K.
This year’s race once again produced fast times in both the men’s and women’s competitions, with Sean Riedel leading the way for the men and taking the victory in 3:37:19. Alex Gold finished just 90 seconds behind to claim second in 3:38:49, while Connor Rosenblatt (3:40:54) rounded out the men’s podium in third.
On the women’s side, Lotti Brinks earned the win in 3:51:42, placing sixth overall. Ashley Brasovan finished as the women’s runner-up and eighth overall in 3:57:37. Lindsey Gonzales (4:08:21) completed the women’s podium in third and also cracked the top ten overall.

Stump Jump 50K
Traveling down to Signal Mountain, Tennessee, we check in on the Stump Jump 50K, one of UltraRunning Magazine’s 2026 Old School Ultras.
A total of 121 runners earned a finish in Saturday’s race, paced by women’s winner Tay Cavett, who ran a dominant race to win in 5:34:10. Cavett placed fourth overall and now owns the second-fastest female time on the Stump Jump post-2017 course. Madison Eubanks was the second woman across the line in 6:44:34. Gracen Glover (6:48:49) came in third.
Top men’s honors went to William Sickenberger in 5:00:38. Mac Dean raced to a second-place finish in 5:07:25. Bryson Harper (5:21:28) was third.

Seneca Creek Greenway 50K
We wrap things up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, for the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail Marathon & 50K.
A total of 158 runners completed Saturday’s 50k event in under 10 hours, with the top overall performance going to Nicolas Crouzier in 3:55:01. Remarkably, this was Crouzier’s sixth Seneca Creek Greenway 50k win since 2019. Marshall Lieder ran to a second-place finish in 4:07:03. Michael Maddox (4:24:27) claimed third.
Yukino Parle ran the sixth-fastest women’s course time ever to win the women’s race in 4:50:43. Parle finished seventh overall. Verena McClain earned a runner-up finish in 5:15:14. Allison Lee (5:15:15) finished just one second behind McClain in third.
