Welcome to the final Ultra Weekend Recap of July, where we have results from the White River 50 in Washington, the Burning River 100 in Ohio and the Minnesota Voyageur 50, to name a few.
At the 30th White River 50 in Crystal Mountain, Washington, 21-year-old Sawyer Magnett from Lynchburg, Virginia, won the race outright in 8 hours, 15 minutes and 41 seconds. She was followed in second by Portland, Oregon’s Lauren Ciolli in 9 hours, 39 minutes and 54 seconds. Both women were making their 50-miler debuts. Third place went to Kirstin Scott from Issaquah, Washington, in 10 hours, 25 minutes and 49 seconds. In the men’s race, Brandon Sullivan of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, won in 8 hours, 59 minutes and 49 seconds and finished in second overall. Justin Brown, also out of Signal Mountain, took second place in 9 hours, 25 minutes and 50 seconds, and Ian Callison from Seattle, Washington, rounded out the podium in 9 hours, 33 minutes and 51 seconds. In Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the Burning River 100 on Saturday, Justin Scheid of Succasunna, New Jersey, won in 15 hours, 40 minutes and 38 seconds. Heah Goshorn hailing from Canton, Ohio, was the runner-up in 16 hours, 33 minutes and 38 seconds, and Dylan Schwarz of Wadsworth, Ohio, took third in 17 hours, 33 minutes and 8 seconds. Jasmine Chiaramonte from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, won the women’s contest in 21 hours, 58 minutes and 33 seconds, Katherine Reigstad out of Willmar, Minnesota, secured second in 23 hours, 6 minutes and 37 seconds, and Danelle Villers of Copley, Ohio, came in third in 24 hours, 46 minutes and 14 seconds. Carlton, Minnesota, hosted the 41st Minnesota Voyageur 50 where Jill Wojta from Onalaska, Wisconsin, and Justin Stewart of Springfield, Illinois, took the titles in 8 hours, 14 minutes, and 40 seconds, and 6 hours, 38 minutes and 34 seconds, respectively. Jaclyn Noshay out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was the women’s runner-up in 8 hours, 32 minutes and 31 seconds, and Nicole Yokum from White River Junction, Vermont, rounded out the podium in 9 hours, 10 minutes and 50 seconds. John Vallez of Duluth, Minnesota, came in second for the men in 7 hours, 24 minutes and 7 seconds, and just 90 seconds back Evan Wetzel from Madison, Wisconsin, came through for third in 7 hours, 25 minutes and 35 seconds.
