Our Ultra Weekend Recap for August 12-13 has results from the Eastern States 100 in Pennsylvania, the Habanero Hundred in Texas, the Capes 100 in Nova Scotia and we were only able to find out about the winners of the Fat Dog 120 in British Columbia due to limited service at the finish line.
Out east in Waterville, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 12, the rugged Eastern States 100 went down. Karen Dunn from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, won and finished seventh overall in 25 hours, 30 minutes and 53 seconds. She was followed very closely by Colleen Moffatt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 25 hours, 39 minutes and 49 seconds, and third went to Justyna Wilson out of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, in 26 hours, 49 minutes and 10 seconds. In the men’s race, 25-year-old Reagan McCoy from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, won in 22 hours, 23 minutes and 58 seconds. Runner-up honors went to Eddie Pantoja out of Avondale, Pennsylvania, in 22 hours, 59 minutes and 34 seconds, and rounding out the podium was Raymond Stoltzfus of Paradise, Pennsylvania, in 23 hours, 9 minutes and 12 seconds. Heading southwest to Cat Spring, Texas, we land on results for the Habanero Hundred from Saturday. Russ Ford of Katy, Texas, led from the gun to win in 20 hours, 47 minutes and 9 seconds. The women’s winner, Kelly Swanson from Spring, Texas, finished in second overall in 22 hours, 28 minutes and 24 seconds. Second and third males were Tyrel Stout and German Garcia, in 23 hours, 22 minutes and 29 seconds, and 23 hours, 31 minutes and 19 seconds, respectively. Kathryn Stewart hailing from Benbrook, Texas, was the second and final female finisher in 29 hours, 39 minutes and 7 seconds. At the Capes 100 in Mabou, Nova Scotia, Jennifer Britz out of Bar Harbor, Maine, won the women’s race and was fourth overall in 24 hours, 37 minutes and 20 seconds. Second place went to Allison MacFadden from Bedford, Nova Scotia, in 27 hours, 44 minutes and 24 seconds, and the final podium spot was awarded to Gillian Hatcher of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, in 29 hours, 37 minutes and 8 seconds. Ryan Rafuse from Aylesford, Nova Scotia, won for the men in 20 hours, 10 minutes and 38 seconds, Tim Fitzgerald of Sydney, Nova Scotia, came in second in 20 hours, 39 minutes and 26 seconds, and Mike MacKinnon out of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, was third in 21 hours, 42 minutes and 10 seconds. While full official results aren’t yet available for the Fat Dog 120 in Manning Park, British Columbia, we were able to glean from social media that Hannes Gehring from Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado, won with a time of 29 hours, 59 minutes and 35 seconds, and Andrea Tarras of Chilliwack, British Columbia, won for the women in an unknown time.
