The Pulsar Trail Pro has been promoted by Salomon as a maximum cushion shoe with light protection and stability, and it’s also a unique looking shoe designed with forward propulsion in mind. The PTP is a more aggressive version of the Pulsar Trail, keeping the key Energy Blade construction, but using a stiffer TPU plate and a sleeker upper construction for improved speed.

This is the weekend on our UltraRunning Calendar that many have been waiting for: the 20th annual Javelina Jundred trail and ultrarunning extravaganza in Fountain Hills, Arizona, on Saturday, October 29. Featuring the first of four 2023 Western States Golden Ticket races in North America as well as two other race distances, this Halloween party in the Southwest is the place to be this weekend.

In 2019, I announced that I was recreating the escape route from an iconic 1979 cult film, The Warriors, and that anyone could join me as I as ran over 28 miles in the middle of the night, from the South Bronx to Coney Island, while dressed as a gang member from the film. This year, we held the fourth annual Warriors UltraRun, which featured 90 costumed ultrarunners in one of America’s leading underground races and the only urban chase anywhere in the world.

Trail running, road running, and ultra running are all forms of running, but trying to understand the differences between each type can be confusing. The important thing to remember with trail running is that it generally takes place in nature and away from developed areas.
