Abby Hall named #3 2025 UltraRunner of the Year

Abby Hall is the 3rd-ranked woman for 2025. She achieved a breakthrough victory at the 2025 Western States 100 in June, finishing in 16:37:16, the fourth-fastest women’s time in the race’s history. This win came just two years after a devastating knee injury in 2023 that fractured her tibial plateau and required major surgery.

Hall’s season also included a fifth-place finish at the Black Canyon 100k in February and a 50-mile race victory the McDowell Mountain Frenzy in December. She narrowly missed qualifying for Western States at both Black Canyon and the Chianti Ultra Trail 120k in Italy, finishing just two spots away from a Golden Ticket at each race. She ultimately gained entry when another runner deferred, making her comeback story all- the-more dramatic.
