Caleb Olson was voted 3rd in the men’s ranking for World UltraRunner of the Year. He won the Transgrancanaria Classic 126k in February, setting a course record with a time of 12:17:25, and becoming the first American man to win the prestigious race. Olson also captured a global audience when he won the Western States 100 at the end of June in 14:11:25 – the second-fastest time in the race’s history and just 2 minutes off Jim Walmsley’s course record. He continued his win streak at the Grampians Peaks 100 in Australia in November after taking a DNF at the World Long Trail Championships due to a fall.
