Ultra Weekend Recap — November 3, 2025

The first weekend of November featured 58 ultramarathons in North America. You can check out our full list of results on the UltraRunning Magazine results page. In this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap, we check on results from California, Alabama, Ohio and Oregon. Rio Del Lago

Lindsey Dwyer stole the show at the Rio Del Lago 100-Mile Endurance Run in Granite Bay, California, shattering the women’s course record with a time of 15:51:35 and winning the race outright by over an hour. After reaching the halfway point in fourth place, Dwyer surged over the final 50 miles, effectively sealing the victory with a blistering 8:49 pace between miles 76 and 86. Her performance not only cut 35 minutes off the previous women’s record but also ranks as the fourth-fastest finish time in the event’s 23-year history. Kimberley Redwood was the second woman and fourth overall finisher in 17:38:05. Anna Yip (17:50:50) rounded out the women’s podium in third and earned a top-five overall finish. Kyle Roberts won the men’s race and placed second overall in 16:58:35. Jacob Rydman (17:31:49) finished second male and third overall. Rokas Zickevicius ran to third and sixth overall (18:10:59).

Pinhoti 100

Nearly 200 runners toed the line at the 18th annual Pinhoti 100 on Saturday, attempting the 100-mile journey from Heflin to Sylacauga, Alabama, along the rugged Pinhoti Trail. In the men’s race, Jake Russell claimed top honors, winning his 100-mile debut in 19:40:55. Peter Kazery finished just over 10 minutes back in second (19:51:16). Nate Truckenbrode rounded out the men’s podium in third (20:01:07). The women’s race came down to the wire, with less than a minute separating first and second. Caila Coyne crossed the line first to earn the victory in 21:43:16. Nelle Fox finished right behind in second (21:44:05). Shannon Sumerford (24:30:44) took third. Full results are not yet available.

Conquer the Castle

Next, we travel to the Midwest and Willoughby Hills, Ohio, for the Conquer the Castle Trail Race. Saturday’s 50k event saw 87 runners reach the finish line, with Kim Peterson conquering the course in 4:49:37—her second consecutive women’s victory at the event. Peterson’s time ranks third-fastest in race history and placed her sixth overall. Second-place female honors went to Lauren Grindall in 5:26:02. Tessa Shlonsky (5:38:17) took third. Mark Butler led wire-to-wire to win the men’s race in 3:49:08, the second-fastest men’s course time ever. Timothy Young came in second (4:18:14), and Adam Kollin (4:30:26) was third.

  • Lucas Clark (8:21:49)

Silver Falls

Our final stop takes us to the beautiful Silver Falls State Park near Silverton, Oregon, for the 12th annual Silver Falls 50k. There were 179 runners who navigated torrential rains and flooded trails to complete the race, paced by men’s winner Lane Inwards in 4:02:51. Ben Handrich raced to a second-place finish in 4:07:46. David Ryland (4:09:12) claimed third. Nikki Weaver took home the win in the women’s race, completing the course in 5:20:00. Valerie Sahakian placed second (5:28:47), and Teresa Lees (5:38:01) ran to third. Full results here.
