Ihor Verys checks in at 10th in the men’s UROY voting. He ran his first ultra in 2021 yet won the Barkley Marathons less than three years later—on his first attempt. He also won the HURT 100 in Hawaii at the beginning of 2024. Born and raised in Chornomorsk, Ukraine, Verys moved to Canada at 21 to attend graduate school. He currently lives in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
