We have some lightning-fast results from the 40th Quad Dipsea in California, a 50k in North Carolina and a 50k in Seattle to cover in our Ultra Weekend Recap coming on the heels of Thanksgiving.

On Saturday, Arden Young from Canmore, Alberta, ran an 8-minute course PR for her second Quad Dipsea title in Mill Valley, California, and in the process clocked the second-fastest time the full course has ever seen in 4 hours, 39 minutes and 15 seconds. She finished a mere 47 seconds off the course record set by Caren Spore in 2010. Second place went to Lindsay Allison out of Telluride, Colorado, who was hot on her heels, registering the fourth-fastest time ever in 4 hours, 41 minutes and 14 seconds. Rounding out the podium was San Francisco’s Zuzana Trnovcova in 4 hours, 49 minutes and 28 seconds. The top four women all ran under 5 hours for just the second time in the 40-year history of the race. In the men’s race, San Francisco’s Nick Handel successfully defended his title and, like Young, also ran a new course PR by 7 minutes, finishing in 3 hours, 48 minutes and 44 seconds—the third-fastest time ever. Adam Loomis from Kamas, Utah, came in second place in 3 hours, 56 minutes and 54 seconds, and third place went to Mario Mendoza, from Bend, Oregon, in 4 hours, 1 minute and 53 seconds. Two men finished in under 4 hours for only the second time ever. Check out the full results here.

At the 21st Derby 50k in Ellerbe, North Carolina, Radha Sahoo of Cary, North Carolina, snagged the title in 4 hours, 9 minutes and 12 seconds. Runner-up honors went to Andrew Macintyre from Durham, North Carolina, in 4 hours, 13 minutes and 58 seconds, and Adam Shabbott hailing from Smithfield, North Carolina, came in third place with a time of 4 hours, 18 minutes and 50 seconds. Danielle Soroka of Salisbury, North Carolina, won for the women in 4 hours, 24 minutes and 16 seconds. Monica Calhoun from Pittsboro, North Carolina, came in second place with a time of 4 hours and 50 minutes, and Amy Scott out of Cary, North Carolina, was third in 5 hours, 58 minutes and 55 seconds. Dig into the full results here.

Jake Head from Peshastin, Washington, won the Ghost of Seattle 50k on Saturday, in 3 hours, 38 minutes and 45 seconds. Kage Sobotta of Clarkston, Washington, finished in second in 3 hours, 59 minutes and 57 seconds, and Seattle’s Jack Allnutt claimed third in 4 hours, 7 minutes and 51 seconds. Christine Mosley out of Issaquah, Washington, won in 4 hours, 27 minutes and 15 seconds, Chelsea Olson from Vancouver, Washington, took second place in 4 hours, 51 minutes and 32 seconds, and Seattle’s Jessica Mullen came in third place in 5 hours, 19 minutes and 7 seconds. Full results here.

The only other results we have in North America are from the Tooele Turkey Trail Trot 10-hour race in Ophir, UT, but we know there are others. If you have links and details from additional events, please leave them in a comment below.
