This summer Brooks updates its popular PureGrit series, which combines natural biomechanics with protective features to help you push the pace. The PureGrit 6 features an extensive redesign of the upper, and maintains the underfoot structure that proved successful on the previous version.

Brooks PureGrit 6
Primary changes to the PureGrit 6 happen on the top half, where the upper has a new cloth-like mesh fabric that breathes and ventilates effectively, with thin 3D print rubberized overlays to add durability in flex areas. We are happy to see the PureGrit 6 replace the flat tongue and sparse lacing system of the previous model with a traditional tongue and lace system that makes it far easier to customize the fit.
Underfoot, Brooks sticks with its performance BioMoGo DNA midsole which provides dynamic energy return, and a flexible ballistic rock plate to absorb and disperse impact. The PureGrit 6 also keeps the excellent hex lug outsole which is one of the best we’ve tested for grip on challenging terrain. A 4mm drop platform makes the PureGrit well suited for midfoot strikers to run naturally, but there’s enough cushioning in the heel for heel strikers to roll smoothly from one stride to the next.
The Brooks PureGrit 6 retails for $120 and is available on June 1, 2017.
