We’re just a week and half away from the first 2023 Western States Golden Ticket race on our North American UltraRunning Calendar, but before we get ahead of ourselves, we’ve got a fun 50/50 in the Music City, a rugged 100-miler in the Lone Star State, the 20th edition of Cincinnati’s oldest ultramarathon and so much more.

This week’s Ultra Weekend Recap follows up on Wednesday’s What’s Up In Ultra and is headlined by the 2022 World Backyard Team Championships at Big’s Backyard Ultra which is still in progress and likely to continue through next week’s What’s Up In Ultra. Last week’s UltraRunning Calendar was one for the record books and the fall momentum continues. Leading the way is the 2022 World Backyard Team Championships, a first-class 50-miler in Pennsylvania and a collection of other races scattered across the continent.

We have another incredible weekend of racing to cover in this week’s Ultra Weekend Recap coming on the heels of our What’s Up In Ultra. We know we missed a bunch of races, so help us out and drop a note in the comment with links to results from other ultramarathons this past weekend—thanks in advance.

The pace always seems to pick up during fall months on our UltraRunning Calendar, and this week is no different—we have 60 events happening across the country. In San Francisco, a 50k World Record attempt is taking place, there’s a 240-mile single-loop race in Utah, a classic 50k/50m on the Ice Age Trail and a whole lot more.
