Scotty talks with Josiah Hesse who is an avid runner, freelance journalist and author of a new book titled, Runner’s High: How a Movement of Cannabis-Fueled Athletes is Changing the Science of Sports.
The book offers an immersive, investigative look into the hidden culture of cannabis use among elite athletes, with a hyper-focus on ultrarunners, and the surprising, emerging science behind the elusive and exhilarating “runner’s high.”
Hesse explores why scientists believe marijuana may actually be the key to getting more people off the couch and onto their feet. He should know, because it’s part of his personal journey, going from an unhealthy lifestyle to finding a joy in running.

Many integrate marijuana into their lives and training fairly young, but this has some risk. I have found it very useful in adjusting to altitude, however (later in life, in my case).
ok, I came here thinking it was about Dean K’s new book (A Runner’s High) – anyhow, very interesting and I agree that each one of us is a case of one with a lot of trial and error to get to the right dosage.
Btw Scotty, the green leaves on a pizza and in a salad work very well! It became legal in our state to grow at home a few plants and we are at the early stages of experimenting. My family has been using the seeds in Easter bread for many generations.
