Wicked Root

This trail can fool the most experienced runner! It is called wicked root for a reason. Through out the trail roots and rocks are everywhere! The race is made of one 10 mile loop. You start out at the trail head Lake Loop is first. You follow the Lake loop to Laurel Hill Loop where you follow it out to the next loop being Big Leaf Loop. From the Big Leaf Loop you will hit Soccer Loop, and finally you will enter into the final loop that is the Spencer Mountain Loop. From that point on you will be moving from the Spencer Mountain Loop back to the Soccer Loop. Only to follow from the Soccer Loop to the Big Leaf Loop. From that point at the end of the Big Leaf Loop you will find yourself back on the Laurel Hill Loop. Then the final push to The Lake Loop. Basically you will be running half the loops going out, then the other half of them coming back to the Start/Finish Line. If you signed up for the 10 mile you will only be doing 1 of the full loop of the trail If you signed up for the 50k you will be doing 3 of the full loops of the trail ALL profits from the race will go to Gaston County Parks & Recs. When you finish this race you will be rewarded a custom made medal. Overall awards will be given to the top 3 finishers of the 10 mile and the 50k. I will not be giving out age group awards. This is a race that you do NOT get a shirt. Lets face it. You guys have plenty of race shirts. This race is about growing these trails. The 10 mile will have only 30 spots available The 50k will have only 50 spots available

2020 New race, New Distance

We raised the bar with 2 Wicked Races on Saturday and Sunday, but we have a new terror coming.....On March 13th, Friday the 13th we will be doing a ALL pavement trail half marathon at Night. We introduce to everyone....WICKED DARKNESS!! 1 mile loop pavement trail. Who is ready for 73 miles on a 3 day stretch. :-D
