The Sparrow
There's a Latin phrase that goes, "dum spiro, sparo." It means roughly, "While I breathe, I hope." Sometimes life throws everything at you. Sometimes it's hard to hope. Hope can be one of the hardest human emotions to feel. In a looped race, just as in life, it can be easy to feel like you're not moving forward. You're in the same place, so what's the point? But you are moving forward. You are adding miles; you are adding strength. You are persevering.
To quote @CrowsFault: "People speak of hope as if it is this delicate, ephemeral thing made of whispers and spider's webs. It's not. Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of the cobblestones in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go."
It is my wish that you would find your triumphant, hopeful self on this course.
Course
The course is an approximately 2 mile loop of smooth single track trail and most of the course is easy and rolling. There will be a central aid station with typical ultra food. We will do our best to have options for all dietary preferences. Feel free to bring your own fuel/hydration too and set up a tent!
