The NYC Trail Fest

On Friday, May 31, Trials of Miles and Kilgore Racing are hosting a special night of trail racing in the Palisades Interstate Park. The event will feature four race distances (5k, 10k, Half Marathon, and 50k) with all of the races wrapping up around sunset at the Ross Dock Picnic area. Following the races, our friends at Red Bull will be hosting an epic afterparty along the river with music, drinks, food, and NYC skyline views!

This is a can’t miss event for any trail lover in the New York City area, or anyone looking to tip their toes into the world of trail racing for the first time. As you likely noticed, this event is scheduled to take place on a Friday afternoon/evening. Obviously this is a bit unconventional, but we really want to take advantage of the fact that this race course is so close to NYC (the starting line is quite literally just over the GW Bridge) and allow people to come out after work and make a night of it. To that end, the 50k will start at 2pm, the half will start at 5pm, the 10k will start at 6pm, and the 5k will start at 6:30pm. That way everyone (in all four races) will be finishing Ross Dock around 7-8pm and we can really turn the finish line into a Friday night party -- with food trucks, music, and sunset views of the city.

The trails feature a variety of surfaces types, primarily rocky semi-technical singletrack mixed with more smooth dirt singletrack. The courses are generally runnable, with some twists and turns, hills of various sizes, and some rocky technical sections. There are also some extended, intermittent sections of road and paved paths that connect some trail segments.
