The Backland
The Backland, Title Sponsored by Nature Nate's, is a last-man-standing trail race near the Texas and Oklahoma border. This race is run on majority trail with a bit of road. Our motto is "Run Till You Can't".
$1000 Cash Prize
The last person standing wins a $1000 cash prize, a huge trophy, a six-pack of beer (or root beer)
Race Rules: Only 60 people are allowed into the last-man-standing competition. This limit has been increased from the previous 38 participant cap. Runners have
1 hour to complete a 4.5-mile loop, also known as a "land." Every hour the gun will go off to start the new land. If you finish the land in an hour, you wait for the gun to go off again before you continue. If you don't finish within 1 hour or you quit - you're out and ring the bell. The last person standing is titled The Backland Champion.
