The St. Jude Runs – Kilometers for Kids is a new event to the area that offers both an endurance event and short-distance race in one. Runners can choose to run a Solo 10x5K, a 2-Person Relay 10x5K, or a 5K. The event will be held at Bob Mays Park in Quincy, IL.
The 10x5K event starts at 7:00 A.M. Each runner will need to be in the designated starting corral at the top of each hour for 10 consecutive hours. All 10 loops must be completed to be eligible for any awards. The 5K event starts at 10:00 A.M. and runs the same route as the 10x5K participants (yes, it will be crazy). 2-Person Relay Teams choose their own order for runners and share one bib for the whole day. This is the best of both worlds; there will be crazy fast runners and crazy ultra-runners on the same course. There will be a runner rehab area for the relay and solo runners to set up tents and hangout while waiting for the next race.
