SISU 100
100 Miles. Six Trails. Endless Possibilities
SISU 100 PNW is the Pacific Northwest's choose-your-own-adventure ultramarathon.
Instead of following one marked course from start to finish, you'll build your own 100-mile route from six unique mountain trails based from Camp Sheppard, just outside Mount Rainier National Park.
Every runner completes the same six trails, but the order is entirely up to you.
Some runners will knock out the biggest climbs early. Others will save them for daylight and spend the night on shorter routes. Every decision becomes part of your strategy.
There is no perfect plan. That's the adventure.
HOW IT WORKS
Your race begins with six unique trail routes ranging from approximately 3 to 19 miles.
You must complete each trail once before repeating any of them. After finishing all six trails, you'll have covered approximately 57.5 miles.
From there, choose whichever trails you want to repeat until you reach 100 miles.
You may repeat a trail, but you cannot complete the same trail more than twice in a row.
Reach 100 miles before the cutoff and you'll earn the SISU 100 belt buckle.
THE COURSE
The SISU 100 consists of six marked out-and-back mountain trails based from Camp Sheppard.
Trail distances range from approximately 3 to 19 miles and include everything from runnable forest roads to steep mountain climbs, waterfalls, ridgelines, and sweeping alpine views.
There is no assigned order. You decide where you go, when you go there, and how you build your race. Every route returns to basecamp, making every decision part of your strategy.
RACE STRATEGY
Every runner arrives with a different plan. Some attack the biggest climbs while their legs are fresh. Others spread the elevation across the weekend. Some chase efficiency, while others simply run the trails they enjoy most.
Unlike the SISU 24, the trails never change in value. The way you combine them is entirely up to you.
BASECAMP
Camp Sheppard is your home for the weekend.
Unlike many 100-mile races, you'll return to basecamp throughout the event. Your tent, food, crew, extra gear, showers, flushing toilets, and medical support are all waiting for you between efforts.
Whether you're grabbing fresh socks, eating a hot meal, or catching a few minutes of sleep, basecamp becomes part of your race strategy.
SELF-SUPPORTED
SISU 100 is a self-supported ultramarathon. Runners are responsible for bringing the food, nutrition, hydration, and gear they'll need throughout the weekend.
We'll have water, electrolytes, snacks, and a selection of common aid station items available at HQ, but you should plan to be self-sufficient once you leave camp.
There are no aid stations on the trails.
