Running Up For Air - Kyhv Peak (Rock Canyon)

Spring into RUFA Kyhv Peak!!!  We are very pleased to announce the 2025 RUFA Kyhv Peak. After several avalanches impacted the Rock Canyon during the Winter of 2024, we have decided to make the RUFA Kyhv Peak event a spring event going forward. We were able to hold a great spring event in 2024 and look forward to another great event in 2025!   

The Up for Air Series is a collection of endurance events created to amplify informed dialogue and empower organizations actively working on air quality solutions. Proceeds from Up for Air events are directed at carefully selected non-profit groups who demonstrate high value influence strategies. The race platform is used to expose participants and the general public to science-based material about the importance of healthy air. All events are conducted with a minimal footprint philosophy.

The 2025 events will be the same as in 2024. There will be 24, 12, 6 and 3 hour events as well as three relay events.

Note: As in 2024 we are consolidating starting times, so the six-hour and three-hour Saturday morning events will start at 6am and the 3-hour afternoon event will start at noon.

Squaw Peak was officially renamed Kyhv Peak on September 8, 2022.  Kyhv is the Ute word for mountain. The course includes the summit of Kyhv Peak (elevation 7,862).

Note: Race takes place on both Provo City and Forest Service Lands.  The 2025 start and finish line will be relocated back to Rock Canyon Trailhead, instead of the Rock Canyon Park where the race was held in 2024 due to construction at the trailhead.
