Run 4 the Border

Welcome to Run 4 the Border (R4TB), presented by Urban Runners — arguably the spiciest, most hilariously unhinged endurance challenge in the country. This isn't your average trail race. It’s a gut-busting, calorie-consuming, taco-fueled odyssey through the greenways of Charlotte, NC. Designed for those bold enough to pair distance running with digestive recklessness, R4TB will test your legs and your love for fast food in equal measure.

Course

The R4TB course guides runners through the beautiful and expansive Greenway system of Charlotte, weaving through leafy boroughs, scenic bridges, and urban parks filled with groves of oak trees. While the terrain is flat, fast, and non-technical, don’t mistake it for easy — especially when your stomach is doing the cha-cha with chalupas.

Starting near Park Road Shopping Center, runners will head out on well-maintained paths and paved trails, with each distance — the Churro 12k, Dos Tacos 24k, and The Whole Enchilada 50k — offering a slightly different flavor of adventure. One unique twist? Runners are free to step up or drop down in distance mid-race depending on how their stomachs (or spirits) are holding up.

Aid Stations and Support

Forget traditional aid stations. R4TB is a cupless event with a twist: the "aid stations" are actual Taco Bell locations. At each stop, you'll spin the infamous Wheel of Fate to determine your taco-based destiny. Burritos, tacos, churros, mystery items — it's all on the table. Just don’t forget your wallet... and maybe some antacids. Bring your own refillable bottle, because hydration is still key — even if your belly is full of spicy regret.

Runner Experience

This is not a race for medals, podiums, or PRs. This is for runners who crave adventure, community, and crunchy tacos mid-stride. Expect high-energy vibes, belly laughs, burning calves, and the occasional existential crisis in a Taco Bell parking lot. Whether you're out to win bragging rights or just survive the enchilada, R4TB promises an unforgettable (and mildly absurd) experience.
