Prairie On Fire Backyard Ultra

The challenge returns! After a sold-out event last year, MTC and Hamilton County parks are proud to present Central Indiana's only official Backyard Ultra at Koteewi Park for 2024, and this year is slated to be bigger and better than ever.

If you're here reading this and don't understand the Backyard Ultra concept, here is an explanation:

Our race begins at 8 am, so at 8am, you would take off to complete a 4.167mi loop in an hour. If you complete the loop, you can line up at the starting line again at 9 am to attempt a second loop of the same distance within the same time limit. If you can complete that, you can line up again at 10 am, and so on, until only one person is left standing.

This is the PERFECT for ANY runner who wants to test their distance limits. Is your furthest distance ever run a 5k? Then, run one or two loops with us and increase your personal best. Last year, runners completed as few as one loop and as many as 21, so you have a broad range of runners.
