The Kettlefoot 50K consists of 2 laps on a 16.4 mile loop. Total elevation gain for one lap is approximately 3,100 feet. The course runs entirely on dirt varying from singletrack to multi-use double track. The mid-point of the loop is the 60-foot Kettlefoot Fire Tower which offers views of Watauga Lake, Doe Valley, Neva Valley, and (on clear days) Grandfather Mountain.
