Iron Griddle
Overview
The IRON GRIDDLE ULTRA • 50k • TRAIL HALF • 6 MILE is a trail adventure just 20 minutes south of downtown Nashville in historic Warner Parks! It is our goal to raise funds and awareness to help maintain the trails, remove invasive species, and plant trees in this beautiful park.
Routes include IRON GRIDDLE 50k with over 5,000ft of elevation gain. THE HIDDEN OWL TRAIL HALF with over 2,500ft of elevation gain. THE MOSS MONSTER 6 MILE which follows Mossy Ridge Red Loop.
Course & Race Details
The IRON GRIDDLE 50k traverses all of the trails in the park with over 5,000ft of elevation. This route follows the blue, white, & red loops including out and backs to trailheads which also serve as aid stations. Runners must make a go at the Belle Meade Blvd entrance steps not once but twice as well as Doom Hill on the back side of the Blue Loop Saddle overlook. Find yourself at mile 30 with a triumphant finish on the Steeplechase portion of the park. The 50k route follows park trails first in counter clockwise and then clockwise directions plus some extra fun traversing park grounds. Plenty of aid stations available to keep you going! You’ll find a smiling face at Mile 3 “The Chimney” - Mile 7 “Deep Well” - Mile 10 “The Nature Center” - Mile 15 “Gaucho Road Trailhead - Mile 20 - Mile 26
The start/finish line is located at Gaucho Road Trailhead area adjacent to the Steeplechase Horse track. Plenty of Sausage, Bacon, Eggs, and Pancakes for Brunch cooked up in Lodge Cast Iron Griddles.
We have a staggered start time for the runners. This is done at the request of the park to help spread runners out on the trails! So do your best when submitting your estimated minute per mile trail pace.
