This event has been a dream for the last couple years.. but it's finally come to fruition!
The Hells Bells ultra starts at the Hantwick Road Trailhead. A gradual gravel path will soon turn into an intense and grueling climb up the Bells Mountain trail. After passing through multiple clear cuts, stream crossings and stunning views of Mt St Helens... around the eleven mile mark you'll come to
the Yacolt Burn Aid Station>> Stock up!!! It will be twenty two plus miles of technical climbs, amazing waterfalls and breath taking views on the Tarbell Trail, looping you back around to the same YB AS>> May want to rest up for a brief moment, get your bearings before
starting the last push back down the Bells Mountain trail ..for the 10 plus miles to the Finish..... where you'll Ring the Bell!
This event is in what we consider our backyard... we love these trails and outdoor places. While your out there soaking in the views and rejoicing in the pain.... please leave no trace.
Due to the still existing pandemic... we are running this event is fatass style this first year! The upside>> is no cost to you:) although we do ask that you (make a donation or participate in a trail work party with the Washington Trail Association) https://www.wta.org/
The downside>> Is the course will be lightly marked with only two aid station stops as described above.
>>One SMALL drop bag is allowed & will be waiting at the Yacolt Burn AS
>>Pacers are allowed starting at mile 11 at the Aid Station
